As Mother of the Bride, you are one of the most important members of the wedding party. On the big day you should feel at your best, in an outfit cut to complement. We asked Creative Director Regine Ellis for her essential styling tips for the big day
Less is more. When you’re getting ready put everything on, hat, earrings, rings, bracelet and heels then look long and hard in the mirror and take one thing off.
Discuss your outfit with the other mother of the bride or groom so you can make sure your colours and fabrics work together.
Remember to buy your shoes at least three months before the wedding so you can wear them in. A cushioned insole for the arch and ball of your foot are also a plus.
Always get a second opinion from a trusted friend or family member who can give you their honest feeling on your overall look.
Take the expert advice from the sales team and only look at styles that flatter your figure. Try to show off all your best points.
Treat yourself to a pampering session and professional makeup for the big day. Bear in mind the tears and running around on the day so it can also be a good idea to have a day look and an evening look otherwise you’ll be constantly re-applying.
If you are wearing a headpiece make sure you keep Kirby grips in your bag as they can be a lifesaver on the day and also backcomb your hair to keep it in place.
Match your outfit to the venue; if it’s a smart event in town go for a slightly more tailored look for example. Such as style 25957
