Dreading the blog photo moment?
John Charles talks to
Sarah Jossel, Deputy Beauty Editor at Sunday Times Style
on how to look your best.
The Hair
What is the best way to maintain volume throughout the day?
Either Batiste dry shampoo or Redken Power Refresh – add to your roots and massage in for a dos of hair va va voom.
Anything to bear in mind if you are wearing a headpiece?
Keep Kirby grips in your bag – if it starts to feel loose they will be lifesavers. Also make sure you tease/backcomb our hair to keep it in place al day.
Beauty
What’s the best routine to achieve healthy radiant skin?
Regular Facials. I swear by Linda Palcic and make time to find a routine that words for you. Environ and La Roche Posay both offer great Daily routines in you have problem skin. Never (ever) go to sleep with your makeup on and try to wash your face in the mornings as well. Don’t use anything too harsh and consider seeing a dermatologist so that they can look at your skin closely and tell you what it needs.
Which is the best way to get a smooth eye area?
There are some really great eye creams on the market at the moment at the moment. I personally love Clinique Repairwear laser focus wrinkle correcting cream – it works a treat on dehydrated skin. And the Olay age defying eye roller is amazing for de-puffing.
What are some of the common mistakes women make?
1. Not drinking enough water. People don’t realise how much water helps your complexion.
2. I find women rely too much on make up to get a flawless finish. If they focused more on a good skincare regime, they would not have to war as much makeup – and look just as good (if not better)
3. Always check your makeup in daylight. A lot of women apply makeup in the dark and don’t realise some obvious mistakes!
